Amazing Spider-Man

So I decided to go see “The Amazing Spider-Man” Going in I had a lot of doubts about this movie. One of the reasons why this movie exist in the first place is because Sony only had a certain amount of time to make a Spider-Man movie or the movie rights would go back to Marvel.

The Good

Andrew Garfield does a great job as Spider-Man. Unlike Tobey Maguire Garfield’s Spidey seems more alive and closer to the comics.

Emma Stone does a great job playing Gwen Stacy. And in my opinion she’s a better actress then Kirsten Dunst.

Martin Sheen is perfect in the role of Uncle Ben. You really feel sad when his character gets killed.

The Bad

Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker is not as good as Tobey’s. Tobey bought out the shy awkwardness of Peter Parker better then Garfield. Garfield looks like a skater punk wannabe.

Sally Field really doesn’t look the part of Aunt May. She’s a great actress but she just isn’t Aunt May.

The origin story is rushed through. You can clearly tell that the story writers clearly didn’t want to tell the story of Peter becoming Spider-Man again.

The Lizard is completely goofy, and his plan to turn everyone into lizards comes across more as a joke then a serious threat.

Final thoughts

All in all “The Amazing Spider-Man" is not a bad movie. It’s better then “Spider-Man 3” but I can’t that it’s better then the first two Spider-Man movies.
